Book review: Middle School: the worst years of my life By: James Patterson

Review: All in all I'd have to say the book is cute, funny and just plain brilliant. It's really more like a cross of the first Diary of a Wimpy Kid, and The Wednesday Wars. It has brilliant schemes and hilarious humour. And really it's just a laugh for an eighth grader to read, and I bet if an incoming sixth grader even laid eyes on it, when their first day a of middle school came around they'd go running. Really I'd say this is a perfect read for anyone leaving or coming in to middle school.

Summary:
The new book middle school the worst years of my life we’re told the story of the-not-so-socialite middle school newcomer Rafe Khatchadorian. In which as he puts it ‘fought and overcame a diabolical teacher called the dragon lady, sold his soul to the school bully a dollar at a time, wrestled with a real live bear repeatedly,’ and much more. In the story we learn that Rafe really isn’t the normal type, he has a soon to be stepfather whom he calls bear and really does nothing to support them. He has a friend named Leo the silent whom has a sketchy past and mother whom tries to do everything she can to help out. For Rafe, middle school is the worst “almost” year of his life. Although things seem down for him at first, he and Leo the silent devise a plan and what might that plan be? Well I won’t give you too many spoilers but the phrase “break every rule in the book,” comes" to mind. And that’s exactly what he does, it starts with fire extinguisher and ends with… THE “E” WORD.
